Chinese panel maker BOE is expected to provide at least 50 million panels for the iPhone 14, accounting for 25% of the total for the year.

Zhongguancun Online quoted the industry chain as saying that BOE will provide Apple with a new generation of 6.1-inch screens this year, mainly for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. According to sources, BOE will supply at least 50 million screens in 2022, accounting for 25% of the total for the year.

The iPhone panel suppliers are mainly Samsung and LG, such as the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, so the market expects that the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the iPhone 14 Max will be jointly supplied by Samsung and LG, and the entry-level iPhone 14 will use BOE panels, or the three will be jointly supplied .

Zhongguancun Online pointed out that this is the first time that BOE has provided panels for the current iPhone, and previously it was used to supply panels for resale or maintenance of the previous generation.

BOE produced 16 million OLED panels last year, much higher than expected. This time, it was passed on to provide 50 million panels to Apple, more than three times that of last year. There is also news that BOE has begun to develop and produce low temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) panels to squeeze into the iPhone 15 Pro series supply chain next year.
